It takes approximately 2,900 gallons of water to make one pair of traditional cotton jeans. That number is equivalent to 10,977 1L water bottles. Triarchy set out to change this by reducing unnecessary water consumption in denim production. To date, we have saved over 2,000,000 gallons of water. Triarchy / Atelier Denim makes use of what we have by repurposing what already exists into new pieces of sustainable luxury. We start by sourcing from the finest selection of vintage denim. Then, we deconstruct, reimagine, and reconstruct - adding high-end materials and trims to make one-of-a-kind denim pieces. Triarchy’s mission is a clear one: To conserve our planet’s most important resource by reducing the massive water consumption of our planet's most beloved piece of clothing, jeans. Denim is one of the most polluting industries on the fashion market primarily due to the wash process. The water pollution created poses serious and critical threats to both the ecosystems and to human health. Triarchy's wash process eliminates the use of pumice stones and toxic chemicals involved in traditional washing while still achieving beautiful abrasions and bright contrasts that reveal the true beauty of indigo denim. Full decolorization using less than a cup of water.View All items by Triarchy

GARMENT CARE We tend to overwash our clothing, which not only wastes water but slowly diminishes your garments lifespan. Denim is an extremely resilient and durable material, therefor it doesn’t need to be washed all that often. Wash your jeans if you really have to. Often times a spot remover or simply dabbing the affected area with water will do the job. To aid in the longevity of your garment please follow these recommendations. TRIARCHY DENIM The best way to care for your jeans is to turn them inside out and wash them in cold water, then hang them to dry. We seriously suggest never using the dryer. The dryer can alter the shape and size of your clothes by melting and shrinking the fibres in the garment. Need proof? Every time you empty out the lint drawer in your dryer that is all the broken/burnt fibres from your clothing. If you must use the dryer then restrict the use to tumble dry only. Hanging dry is your best bet to maintain shape, fit and longevity. ATELIER DENIM Atelier Denim pieces are made with a combination of denim and luxury materials, therefor we recommend DRY CLEANING ONLY for most Atelier garments. Some pieces like the repurposed vintage denim jacket without any appliques or trims can be washed in cold water and then hang dried. However, we would never suggest that you put the denim fringe jacket in the washing machine, that’s a set of knots we would not want to have to undo! For dry cleaning we recommend a green dry cleaning service such as Sudsies, which is a mail in service. (http://sudsies.com/services_express_mail.asp). Alternatively you can search for a green dry cleaner local to you. If you have any questions or are unsure as to how to care for your garment please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you in the best way to care for it.
